How to package parcels to Germany
Although Germany doesn’t seem far from the UK, we still advise you take care with packaging, especially when you are sending fragile items by courier. Your parcel will travel through a number of depots with automated sorting machines so be sure to pack your items well and use cushioning material inside your parcel to help protect the contents from damage.
We’ll transport parcels from 0.5kg up to 25kg in weight, 80x80x80cm max in size. We recommend you use a strong and sturdy outer box when sending your package and don’t overfill it, regardless of the dimensions of your parcel. For further advice, take a look at our handy international packaging guide for tips.

We always ensure your parcel is in great hands, but there are a few things you can do to make sure your parcel arrives with your recipient in the way you want:
-
Make sure your parcel does not contain any prohibited items – this could result in your parcel being destroyed, returned back to you and any cover being invalidated. See our terms and conditions for more information
-
Ensure the safety of your parcels contents by making sure it is properly packaged as waterproofed - your parcel will be handled at several points throughout its journey so securely packaging and sealing your parcel is key to a successful delivery.
-
Do not use black plastic wrap on the outside of your parcels. Unfortunately automated scanning machines cannot read it and it will result in your parcel being refused on collection/drop off or being returned back to you – incurring a fee.
Germany is closer than you think with our door to door parcel delivery from the UK. Just register with us – it only takes a minute – and choose the delivery option that suits you best.
