Hello there! It’s Parcel Pete with you today, just thought I’d give you a little catch up of what I’ve been up to recently. On Saturday 14th September I attended The Henry Allen Appeal charity ball in Milton Keynes and what a fab night it was!
The Henry Allen Appeal:
4 year old Henry Allen is fighting against high risk Neuroblastoma, a form of cancer. As treatment in the UK is limited an appeal has been set up for him to raise the £500,000 needed to send him abroad, so far the appeal has raised over £80,000 since being set up in February.
The Charity Ball:
The Charity Ball, organised by Lisa Forrest and assisted by UK Mail employee and appeal team member Emma Boulton, has been 5 months in the making. On the night we had live music from local artists Nicky Prince and her band Soul Selecta & Katie Buckhaven, who was discovered by Michael Parkinson, raffle and silent auction with prestigious prizes. There was also an in house photographer on the night taking my snaps with guests. Local radio station MKFM was also there on the night to support the event.
Funds Raised:
We had a fantastic night; I boogied away with great people and enjoyed a slap up meal. In total the appeal raised £3397, to which ipostparcels.com’s parent company UK Mail, donated an extra £1100 taking the final amount to £4497! A brilliant achievement all round!

Parcel Pete turned the ripe old age of 2 on August 9th which of course called for a celebration and some fun for all!
To help celebrate his Birthday, UK Mail and ipostparcels.com staff all got involved in a nationwide Bake Off.
Bake Sale:
We had cakes galore across the UK and they were all sold to help raise some much needed funds for The NSPCC.
We have raised nearly £600 which is a fantastic amount for our charity The NSPCC. The money raised will of course help The NSPCC continue with their great work they do to support and protect our children.

It's the holiday season and Parcel Pete’s jetted off to the gorgeous Italy for a week for a bit of relaxation as well as delivering some of your parcels in Italy too!
Here at ipostparcels.com, we’ve had Parcel Pete keeping us up to date with his journey with pictures of the different parts of Italy he’s been visiting.
Competition:
So we’ve put together a little Italian competition seeing as though Parcel Pete’s over there at the mo!
It’s our usual competition where we ask you to retweet, like and share our posts on Twitter and Facebook. This time round we’ll also be posting up snaps of Parcel Pete on holiday so you have to guess exactly which part of Italy he’s in.
The more you RT/Like/Share and answer the q’s correctly the more chances you have of winning £50’s worth of yummy Jamie’s Italian Restaurant vouchers.
Jamie Oliver’s Special Delivery:
You may be thinking why did Parcel Pete decide to visit Italy? Well, not only do we ship parcels to Italy but we also recently made some special deliveries to the Jamie’s Italian restaurants across the UK, which gave him the taste for wanting more of the Italian culture.
We delivered some laptops which were needed for training purposes; we collected the laptops from one restaurant and delivered to the next and so on, just in time for their training workshops.
Whilst on his delivery round, Parcel Pete decided to buy £50’s vouchers for Jamie’s Italian for one lucky winner which can be used at any of the Jamie’s restaurants across the UK!
So if you fancy your chances of winning, make sure you enter our competition.
But hurry, competition closes at 11.59pm on Tuesday 16th July and there will only be one winner!
Hi there! It’s Parcel Pete; it’s been a while since I last updated you on what I’ve been up to. I’ve been working alongside my fellow ipostparcels.com colleagues for some fantastic charitable causes.
Summer Fete
So I first went to Bracknell to a fantastic summer fete hosted by Sandy Lane Primary School in order to help them raise money so they could make improvements to their middle playground by adding benches, play equipment and toys to enhance the children’s break and lunchtimes.
It was a great day and the weather held out, they had all sorts of fun activities such as apple bobbing, coconut shy, bouncy castle, football and hook a duck, a police car for the children to sit in, along with a host of cake stalls. It was truly a day to remember as children and parents came together to enjoy the anticipated event.
We raised £5k and UK Mail; our parent company, also donated an extra £1100 taking the final total to £6100!
Midnight Walk
I also had a bit of a late one the other night as I was taking part in a midnight walk for The Hospice of St Francis, a great charity that provides professional support and care for people with terminal illness.
There was a sea of pink walking a good 11 miles; I even donned the pink t-shirt! It was a brilliant excuse for a night out with friends also a fab way to get fit and raise money for such a worthy cause.
Facebook
You can check out all my pictures from my latest charity on the ipostparcels.com Facebook page.
Now that I’ve recovered from all that fun, I’m back on the road collecting and delivering your parcels!
Get the strawberries and pimms on the go, it’s that time of year again…yes that’s right it’s Wimbledon! Here at ipostparcels.com we’ve been keeping you up to date on all things Wimbledon on our Facebook and Twitter page, even Parcel Pete’s had a bit of tennis makeover too!
In keeping with the whole tennis spirit of things we thought we’d look into some of the traditions that help make Wimbledon the most popular tennis tournament to date.
Grass courts:
Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and has been played since 1877. It’s regarded as one of the most prestigious out the ‘Four Grand Slams’ and is the only tennis tournament still played on a grass court which is the original surface for the sport.
Strawberries & Cream:
Forget hotdogs and burgers, strawberries and cream are the typical stall food at Wimbledon. Dating back to the origins of Wimbledon 1877, they signified the start of summer.
The Rain:
Wimbledon just wouldn’t be Wimbledon without the rain! It almost always rains at least once during the two weeks Wimbledon is on for. The rain disrupts play and the courts need to be covered up, however in 2009 Centre Court had a purpose built electronic roof fitted to it so play could continue through the rain.
All White:
All players must stick to a strict dress code of an all-white outfit. Roger Federer famously wore trainers with an orange sole whilst playing and was pulled up by the organisers.
Royal Patronage:
Wimbledon is a favourite amongst the Royals and they’ve been attending since 1907. The Duke of Kent is the president of the All England Club and players are to courtesy when entering and exiting centre court if the Queen or Prince of Wales is sitting in the Royal Box.
So there’s some of the most well-known traditions of Wimbledon and help make it what it is today. Parcel Pete’s a huge fan of it too so why not join in on the conversation on our Twitter and Facebook page.

Researching holidays, finding out where to go and what time of the year can be time consuming. ipostparcels.com have taken a look into this and have put together a little holiday timeline which will help advise you on where’s best to go, at specific times of the year.
Spring Break
Spring’s a great time of the year to visit places such as Morocco, Egypt and Italy, all short haul flights and nice and warm. African Safaris are also cheap this time of the year due to it being the wet season.
Summer Holidays
We don’t always get as much sun as we’d like during the summer season in the UK and some other destinations can be too hot for example Dubai and Egypt can be unbearably hot. Why not try Europe; you’ll get gorgeous weather, culture and landscapes from the likes of Sicily and Sardinia. Italy is also a personal favourite of our top delivery man, Parcel Pete.
Autumn Days
Temperatures become a lot more reasonable during the autumn term for destinations such as Dubai. You can still get a tan without being uncomfortably hot. We also recommend the Far East, they’ll be coming out of their wet season towards the end of autumn and the likes of Thailand and Malaysia are a must.
Winter Warmers
Escape the winter blues to warmer climes like Barbados, Jamaica, Cuba and Mexico. Prices may be slightly high but definitely worth it for the gorgeous beaches and crystal clear sea. If not, skiing is great this time of the year in Europe.
So there you have it, take a break from sending parcels and start booking your holidays, Parcel Pete certainly will be. Keep a look out on our Facebook and Twitter pages to see where in the world Parcel Pete will be visiting….
May Bank Holiday Weekend
It’s not every day we get a three day weekend so when it does happen it’ll be rude not to make the most of it. The weather has certainly improved over the last few weeks and is set to be pretty warm and sunny this coming May Bank Holiday, so here at ipostparcels.com we’ve scoured the events calendar and found some great things to do over the extended weekend.
London Wonderground:
The summer long pop-up cabaret fun festival is held at London’s Southbank Centre. There’s something there for everyone from quirky comedy shows for adults, family shows to children’s entertainment. With fair rides, band stands and food stalls, it’s definitely not one to be missed.
The Eden Project:
A great family day out, with plenty of things to do and see and this May Bank Holiday they’ve got spectacular performances from the International Male Voice Choral Festival. The Eden project in Cornwall is the world's largest rainforest in captivity with steamy jungles, waterfalls and always an array of activities and entertainment on. So grab your family and friends and take in the spectacular views.
Rooftop Film Club:
This is definitely something you can’t do every day in sunny old UK. Why not sit outside on a warm evening and watch one of your favourite movies. This bank holiday weekend programme features Eighties favourites Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Sat May 4), Flight of the Navigator (Sun May 5) and Willow (Mon May 6).
Bank Holiday Parcel Delivery:
Parcel Pete will be off on his travels enjoying his 3 day weekend, so don’t forget if you’re booking your parcel delivery on Friday 3rd May it won’t be collected till Tuesday 7th May.
Parcel Pete.com:
Have a great weekend all and if all else fails why not visit Parcel Pete’s own little world at www.parcelpete.com, where the sky is always blue, the grass always green and the temperature always above 20 degrees!
