About Swaziland
|
|
The Kingdom of Swaziland is a sovereign state in the south of Africa bordered by South Africa to its north and Mozambique to its east.
Despite Swaziland being the smallest country in the southern hemisphere, it more than makes up for its size with its huge range of activities and attractions. It is one of the few remaining Executive Monarchies in Africa which also means its culture and heritage remain deeply engrained in all aspects of modern life.
Along with the rich culture, locals of Swaziland are known for their friendliness and ability to make all visitors feel extremely welcome. This, along with the stunning landscapes which include mountains and plenty of natural wildlife, makes Swaziland a stunning place to visit.
Swaziland is comprised of 28 cities including Manzini, Big Bend, Hluti, Mpaka and Mondi.
The country is also divided into four climatic regions: Highveld, Middlebelt, Lowveld and Lubombo Plateau.
During the summer months (November to March), temperatures in Swaziland will hit 20°C while the winter months (June to August) generally peak at 13°C.
The majority of the population within Swaziland are ethnically Swazi, with a small number of white Africans and Zulu also living there.
83% of the population in Swaziland adhere to Christianity, while the rest of the country follows Islam, Hinduism and Judaism.
