Cyprus has some of the best looking beaches, a vast amount of history within its ruins and brilliant food at the locals. It's also known as the island of love. For those wine tasters, it has the world's oldest wine label - Commandaria. It's said to have been made 5000 years ago, it has a sweet and rich taste. The very earliest existence of humans on Cyprus was called Aetokremnos, they arrived around 10,000 BC and evolved into villiages dating from 8200 BC.
Cyprus is divided into 6 administrative regions, each named for its administrative capital. Since 1974, the whole of Kyrenia district, most of Famagusta district, and the northern portion of Nicosia district are occupied by Turkish forces. The Turkish Cypriot community administers those areas.
