About Vietnamn

|
The most historical event in the country’s history has to be the infamous Vietnam War, which saw the politically divided north and the south battle from 1955 through 1975, until the fall of Saigon. After American intervention and heavy losses, Vietnam spent the next 14 years in political isolation, until the early 1990’s when the government initiated certain reforms and enabled the country to integrate back into the world economy. Since, Vietnam has presented one of the fastest growing economies in the world, culminating in membership of the World Trade Organisation.
Ha Long Bay is probably one of the most famous, and easily recognisable natural wonders. Protected as a world heritage site, the mesmerising rocks that rise from the surrounding waters, featured in the James Bond Thriller ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’.
Vietnam has 58 provinces all with their own individual capital cities, all of which used to be part of mainland China until 938AD.
