Summer is almost upon us, as the seasons start to deliver warmer days our letterboxes are set to see deliveries of a different kind. Here are just some of the pieces of post that are most likely to greet us as we return from being out and about in the summer sun.
1.Wedding invites
Lovebirds love nothing more than exchanging vows under the glorious rays of summer sunshine. And while rain is supposedly an omen of a happy marriage, a summer wedding is guaranteed to heat things up.
2.Exam results
Pupils the length and breadth of the country are crossing their fingers and hoping for the best as summer rolls around. And if they don’t get an ‘A’ grade the fact that schools out should act as the perfect consolation.
3. It’s a boy...or girl
August is the busiest month for births and parents across the country will be welcoming their little bundle or bundles of joy into the world in droves during the height of summer. The question on everyone’s lips is likely to be ‘is it a girl or boy?’.
4. Holiday postcard
‘We’re all going on a summer holiday’ is likely to be the theme tune to our summer jaunts abroad. What could be better than a dose of sun, sea and sand and the chance to inspire the envy of those back home by sending a postcard?
5. Water bill
With gardens in bloom it’s no wonder that our sprinklers and hoses spring into action come summertime. And what does this mean apart from perfectly nurtured flora and fauna? Well in three words, huge water bills.
